TREAT YOURSELF…
… to a replenishing Yoga River Retreat / Menopause Yoga River Retreat
I’m delighted to be out on the river working with Paddleboard Maidenhead to explore yoga, breath-work, meditation and relaxation (and of course, some paddling) out on the river, enjoying the gifts of nature.
I’ll lead the retreats … and of course, we’ll have support from the Paddleboard Maidenhead team to ensure everyone feels safe, secure and can be as relaxed and confident as possible.
You’ll enjoy..
Rejuvenating yoga river flow: (There’ll be modifications for beginners and the more advanced - ensuring the practice suits everyone).
Paddle-boarding: Whether a beginner or competent paddler - you’ll get to enjoy nature, the river and literally ‘go with the flow’.
Breath-work: We’ll be exploring the power of pranayama. Learning how to use our breath to calm, reset and energise.
Meditation: We’ll take time to pause, breathe and absorb all of your practice, restore, replenish and nourish mind, body and spirit. Drifting along on the water - fully embodied and connected. Bliss!
Menopause Yoga River Retreats
Menopause, rather than being about loss, lack and dread - can be seen as an empowering transition into a very empowering ‘Second Spring’. Stepping into a new phase of life with confidence and compassion for who we are becoming. For the Menopause Yoga River Retreats - the yoga and breathing elements of the practice will focus on serving menopause symptoms, cooling ‘meno-rage’, supporting relaxation and releasing emotional tension, particularly from our shoulders, jaws and hips (which works really well for paddle-boarding tension too). We’ll hold a ‘women’s circle’ - giving opportunity to talk to one another and share experiences and we can chat as we paddle, talking about symptoms, natural remedies, raise and answer questions - and generally support one another with love, empathy, laughter and kindness. I’ll share some inspirational reading and poetry to enable a sense of self-assuredness and connectedness and to lift our spirits and help you to realise that you are not on your own. As women, we really are all in menopause together - and of course… are stronger together.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
Michelle Carvill - Paddleboard enthusiast and friendly and experienced yoga teacher, - (amongst many other things such as author, sustainable marketer, digital agency owner, preventative healthcare champion and digital educator).
With all my plate-spinning, Yoga keeps me sane!
I've been practising yoga for 30 years and have practised a variety of styles - including Hatha Vinyasa Flow, Astanga, Iyengar, Anasura, Yin - however, to me… it's all Yoga. I qualified as a teacher in 2014 with Sam Rao and with Petra Coveney in Menopause Yoga in Feb 2021. I’m registered with Yoga Alliance and British Wheel of Yoga.
I'm often asked what style of yoga I teach and my style is very much a blend of everything I've learned from my teachers and my own self practice over the years.
My classes vary week to week, aligned with how I’m feeling, the seasons, the weather, the energy - but there's always usually some form of flow…
… hence why I call it - ‘go with the flow’ yoga. And on the river… what better way to yoga.
My inspiration for classes comes from so many things - the weather, the mood, the season - and my yoga is designed for 'every' body.
Beginners always welcome.
